AC Repair From Our Corpus Christi Home Base
ColdSolutions repairs air conditioners in Corpus Christi, TX, and has since 2013. If your AC is blowing warm air, freezing up or not turning on, call (361) 317-7171. The emergency line runs 24/7, and right now there is $20 off AC repair.
Corpus Christi sits right on the bay, and the wind carries salt inland. On a condenser, salt shows up as white crust on the coil fins and rust on the cabinet. Homes on North Padre Island and out in Flour Bluff take the most of it. Farther inland, toward Calallen, the bigger enemy is heat and long run times.
What Salt Air Does to an AC
Salt holds moisture against metal. Over time it eats the thin aluminum fins and the copper tubes in the outdoor coil. A coil that is crusted over cannot shed heat, so the system runs longer and works harder. That is when capacitors fail and compressors overheat.
- White crust or green spots on the outdoor coil
- Rust on the cabinet or the fan guard
- A unit that runs all day and never catches up
- A breaker that trips on hot afternoons
How to Help Your Coastal Unit Last
Rinse the outdoor coil with a garden hose, gently, from the inside out, a few times a year. Keep plants and fences two feet back so it can breathe. And have it checked before summer. Our maintenance members get seasonal service and a 4-6 hour priority response window when something does fail.
